SSL certificate lifetime change - March 12, 2026

HomepageNews from Us SSL certificate lifetime change - March 12, 2...

Important: SSL certificate lifetime change - March 12, 2026

This is a reminder that SSL certificate lifetimes will change across the industry, starting March 12, 2026. All SSL customers at have been informed about this separately by Sectigo - this notification is simply a reminder and does not contain any information that Sectigo has not supplied already.

Starting on March 12, 2026, maximum certificate validity will be reduced to 199 days (about 6 months), and Domain Control Validation (DCV) reuse will be limited to 198 days.

This means certificates will need to be reissued more frequently, and domain validation may need to be renewed more often, especially if you manage certificates at scale.

What you should know:

Existing certificates remain valid until their expiration.
Certificates issued or reissued after March 12, 2026, will follow the new 199-day limit.
DCV records older than 198 days cannot be used to issue certificates.

We recommend preparing for more frequent certificate renewals and reviewing any automation or certificate management processes you use.
