Create a Group Email Using Forwarders cPanel

Creating a group email in cPanel is not done the same way as creating a normal mailbox. In cPanel, a “group email” is created using Email Forwarders or Mailing Lists depending on what you need.

Below are both methods so you can choose the right one.

Method 1: Create a Group Email Using Forwarders (Most Common & Simple)

This is ideal for creating addresses like:

  • support@yourdomain.com → multiple team members
  • sales@yourdomain.com → multiple recipients
  • info@yourdomain.com → multiple inboxes

✔ How it works

One email ID forwards incoming mail to multiple recipients.

Steps

Example

If you want support@yourdomain.com to go to 3 people:

You will create 3 forwarders:

  • support@yourdomain.com → ramya@yourdomain.com
  • support@yourdomain.com → akash@yourdomain.com
  • support@yourdomain.com → basil@yourdomain.com

This becomes your group email.

Method 2: Create a Mailing List (If You Need Advanced Features)

Use this only if you need:

  • Moderation
  • Subscription management
  • Digest mode
  • Public/Private lists

Steps

  1. Go to Mailing Lists in cPanel
  2. Create a new list (e.g., team@yourdomain.com)
  3. Manage members from the Mailman interface

⚠️ Note: Many hosts disable Mailman by default because it’s heavy and outdated.
